Despite dishonesty and a heavy reliance on immigrants, the Labour party suffered a humiliating defeat.

The Postal Ballot has increased the election fraud.

The Labour Party uses every means possible, fair or foul, to gain votes.  The postal ballot, once only used for the convenience of invalids, the sick and the lame, has now been offered to everyone.  Posting ballot papers to the town hall is open to widespread abuse, which is why the change was made.  Such fraud is difficult to detect, for it is likely to take place on council property outside normal working hours, yet already a number of Labour and Liberal party members have been charged with the offence.  At the London election for Mayor, principally for the benefit of the Labour Party, half a million postal votes were registered.  How many of these were genuine is impossible to ascertain.

Another recently-employed scam is to count the votes the day after the election.  Once again, it gives cheats an extra opportunity to tamper with ballot boxes overnight when there is no-one around. This practice of counting votes the following day only ever happened before in extremely remote areas.   Counting at night is far more convenient for both those in work, and parents with children to attend to.  Travelling to town halls and parking is also much easier at night, so why did they make the change?

For the first time in May this year, computers were used to count votes.  The public would be foolish to accept such a system.  Although under the manual method mishandling of the ballot papers is possible, it is occasionally visible.  Any computer programme can be corrupted without detection, by those setting it up - or even changed by an experienced hacker.

As the public becomes more angry over the effects of government mismanagement and incompetence, we can expect to see those in power become even more devious and ruthless in their attempts to hold on to their jobs.  To arrive at a government that represents the people, vigilance is the keyword.
